Kasut kena tagged Bintang Ati ...

Sori wai Bintang Ati, 2 minggu aku tu udah kena tagged tang baru sehari tu begerak, kebuah iya aku tu udu belalang. Masa aku tu ngerintai ke kasut/selipar lalu belap ke kasut & betuchi ke jemari kasut. Nuh peluh2 aku! Nya ko anak, manah amat mimpi nemalam laban kelalu rajin pagi tu. Lalu di 5S aku kasut/selipar aku udah nya!

1. Bantai ke semua kasut ... tu iya!

a. Kasut sukan serta mega selalu kena aku melancong, laban nyamai kena bejalai.

b. Kasut tumit baroh, bertutup ...
c. Kasut ala stail 'lelaki' kena aku nurun ke padang kerja ... tang enda ngah semesti nya, laban kadang2 ngeyit nurun, nie kasut ke bah kaki meh! Udah sekali nurun ke padang kerja aba tanah lucah kena kasut betumit 2 inchi. Sakit!!!!! (sayau ke kasut!!!)

d. Kasut & Selipar gelamor ...

Brand selipar/kasut mayoh macham, asal iya nyamai dikena. Tang ke mayoh agi ianya BATA (pelanggan setia)! Peda aja ari chap ;)

Tumu pagi tu tadi aku nurun ke padang Dataran Fasa II, enggau bala Maksak Wanita, Bhg. Sibu be eksesais enggau meda orang pekit poco-poco. Aku tu enda kala ngagai Dataran tu, manah amat endor iya.

Mayoh bala pegawai Kerajaan & sebilik sida enggau ber eksesais serta bisi 5 kumpulan bepekit. Macam-macam bungai poco-poco; rindu amat meda sida.

Aku tu udah nyadi lumor 2 tuai sida ditu lebih kurang 9 taun, lalu dulu ari nya nyadi Sekretari pen lebih kurang 5 taun ... chukup ko tuda ati, ngelak ke bala ke regas agi. Tang iya penusah, nadai mayoh pegawai indu ke senior di Sibu, sekeda iya enggai meri diri. Eggai aku irau ke nya; nih sida ke pengambis senior meh ngambi alih pengawa.

Pejalai keterubah ... sambung ensera

Pejalai keterubah aku ke luar negara taun tu baru udah siap magang diatur. Kertas kerja ke dibantai lama udah dikirum ke aku; slides aku baru ngah udah siap! ALLELUYAH!! Diatu ngelaku slides nya aja .. ngelekat ke gambar-gambar memimit nya. Minggu tu tadi, ketegal aum orang ai di Kuching; bisi ngah aku betemu enggau orang ai ari Sabah. Gaga amat ati aku ninga siko ari kaban tu bisi enggau bulan April tu. Ngibun aku dik ko aku nganu iya! Ngibun keni nya ko tanya tudah ngah!!?? Amat ngah nya, ngibun keni? Kitai tu nuh udah tuai, bakani ngibun. Bisi sesekon aku berunding ke nya; lalu nyebut .. mai aku bejalai/raun begulai etc etc ko aku. Ninga iya nge auk ke aku, lantang ngah ati aku. Aku mikir ngelama tu, ngandal ke bala kaban ribai ke sama enggau; taja sida tu enda tentu ka segaut begulai, enda baka kita semenoa!

poco-poco ..

Pedis amat kaki aku tu! :D Nya asai laban ke enggau orang nguit ke kaki, ngelek ke punggung .. berpoco-poco tadi!. Aku tu baru pulai makai malam mesra Maksak Wanita; pengerami taun ke di adu ke bala. Orang ke bisi enggau ianya YB Abu Seman, ADUN Jemoreng, enggau bini iya serta Pemangku Residen Sibu, Tn. Hj. Ismail, enggau sekeda bala Tuai-tuai opis perintah. Seputing amat ke sida tiga tu, diasoh angkat; nadai ditulak!

Aku tu tadi angkat poco-poco tiga kali; joget sekali .. ni enda pedis kaki & patung!! Ditambah ngah .. ngena kasut betunjik! Ngena ngah aku tu 'black & blue' sida kaki laban tema baju, kasut & beg ianya hitam biru!

Konon nya .. pratis poco-poco ke Gawai ila ;)

Aku enda ingat mai BCggg tadi!!! :D Bisi ngah di inyau ke kaban berjoget, sekada ke adongkedilalai nadai! :D

SIDS Sibu AGM ke 17 ...

Nyua ke tulong ngagai siko ari kaban lama SIDS, Pn. Maryrita, ke udah tinggang penusah rumah angus di Jln Sukun taun nyin kemari.

Gambar-gambar ibu-ibu ke bergaya maya aum tengahari tu tadi .... macam2 fashion bisi!

Pengawa aku ujung minggu tu mayoh amat; lalu kurang endal jam aku begulai (quality time) enggau anak. Nuh puchau tudak, agi pen minggu tu aku tu bejalai ketegal kerja 3 hari. Kasih anak! Tu endang meli sida donut enggau famous amos bai pulai!!

Hari enam tu kemari (21.3.09) aku serta 5 EXCO SIDS, Sibu bisi enggau ngulu AGM SDNU Sibu, ketegal ke nyadi Returning Officer sida iya! Meri tahniah ngagai En. Chambai Lindong ke nyadi Pengerusi baru sida iya enggau bala komiti ke bukai baka Cr. Tengku Geruna, En. Augustine Merikan (orang merdu suara!), En. Barieng Balai, En. Jawi, enggau bala bukai (enda ingat aku nama sida ke bukai ... ingat ke sida ke 'bujang' sigat aja!! ;)

Aum SIDS Sibu ke 17 dipejalai ka seharitu (22.3.09), lalu tekenyit aku meda 260 orang bala indu Sarakup enggau baum!! Tu meh tubuh ke paling mayoh alam sejarah datai; tang nyangka tubuh kaban pen udah niki ngagai 1196 (ujung taun 2008). Diatu rajin amat bala kitai ke indu enggau berSerakup! Gaga amat ati aku meda pemayoh sida iya! Ngena peluang betemu tu, kami mega ngisi pom SDNU - 260 orang - ngadang SDNU taun baru!!!

Udah ke enggau orang besemina 'Women of Independence - Architect of Destiny' - ngaga corak tuju pengidup meh kitai indu!! :D ... alam SDNU, singkang ke terubah?

Women of Independence: Architects of Destiny Conference

I was fortunate to be a participant to the conference Women of Independence: Architect of Destiny earlier this week on the 10 & 11 March in Kuala Lumpur; and there were 13 ladies from Sarawak (mostly of senior ladies in the civil service). The papers were presented by dynamic women who had done excellent in the business world and what an inspiration they were!

The speakers were included several international women who had made a name for themselves in their own country. There was a race car driver, Leilani Munter, a challenged pilot, Jessica Cox (lady without both arms), Melissa Moon, a world mountain runner champion, and closer to home was the airline lady (Susi Pudjiastuli of Susi Air of Indonesia) and of course, home grown successful women - Nafisah Radin, Datuk Rafiah Salim, former vice chancellor (UM), and of course the ever dynamic Helen Read (yeah, 2nd time I hear her speak; by the way, I am one of her loyal client!).

Several lessons were learned:-
1. to conquer fear and not make it a hindrance to one's life,
2. to set up life's targets & goals with timeline,
3. to reinvent oneself, and
4. to develop great network.

The Sarawak ladies took the opportunity to network and discuss several women related issues with YB Datin Fatimah.

Cermin Mata ....

Gaya Baru!! (New Look!!)

Anak aku tu, ari belaboh sekul bulan Januari suba madah ke diri enda ulih meda blackboard! Nya meh aku ke kiroh berandau enggau guru kelas iya, minta iya duduk di mua. Iya tu tinggi dibanding enggau kaban iya bukai, nya alai selalu diasoh guru duduk dibelakang. Tang taun tu, iya duduk di barisan kedua, tapi di tepi, enggai ke ngelindung orang di belakang. Taja duduk aba barisan nya, agi ngah iya enda meda, laban sekeda tulisan guru tu mit ko iya. Nu ninga iya puas madah ke diri enda tentu meda, lemai kemari check-up mata iya (serta engku empu), lalu ko optician, short-sighted power 200! Enda teruk endal, semina leka leka ke mit enda ulih dipeda.
Si cantik molek lalu gaga bepilih ke gagang cermin mata!! Setengah jam tua iya bepilih ke ni ke manah aba mua, be model ke macam2 cermin. Pilih iya - shape: oval, size:132, warna: biru, kaca:coated, harga:RM150.00! Cermin mata anak mit pen ngemal nya!!


Since the beginning of the school year, Val had been complaining about her eyesight ie the fact that she could not see the blackboard well. She's one of the tallest student in her class, so naturally, she gets to sit at the back of the classroom; so I had to meet her classroom teacher to request for her to sit in front. She was placed in the 2nd roll at the side. However, some of the teachers write small, and she still has problem; so yesterday, decided to take her to the optician. Well ... she's shortsighted, power required 200! Not too bad! But the fun part was watching her shop & model so many glassess!!! The final choice - frame:oval, size:132, color:blue, lens:coated, price:RM150.00! So expensive for a little kid!!!

The meeting...

Last weekend I was in Kuching attending the one-day Biannual General Meeting of the Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (Sarawak Dayak National Union, Women Wing). It was an interesting meeting. Its always a joy to meet and reconnect with the ladies from all corners of Sarawak! To see the various beautiful kebaya, baju dero, etc.. - a very colorful experience! With the various fashions on display, I equate it to the Fashion Week in Paris or New York!! Maybe ... Fashion Week of Borneo!!!

I had attended many of these meeting, since joining SIDS, Sibu; first as Secretary and later when I took over the chairmanship of Sibu branch. Dayak women had indeed progressed over the last 5 decades - since the formation of SIDS in 1957! We now have the FIRST Dayak woman appointed Senator - Honorable Datuk Senator Empiang Jabu. Another FIRST, is also the appointment of a Dayak woman as Temenggong (Datuk Tra Zehnder) who was later appointed as Ketua Majlis Adat Istiadat. Her absence was greatly felt from the BGM; we pray for her continual good health! A great and inspirational woman!!

Was the meeting fruitful? What knowledge, new ideas, etc did we gain?

The meeting went on the usual mode of reporting & election. Dayak women, we need to ask ourselves ... What next? With a membership of about 12,300 women, all over the state - I would think, in numbers there is strength. Change is inevitable; and Dayak women must adapt to the changing environment.

At the meeting, I raised 3 matters:-

1. Issue of membership of SDNU & SIDS - You got to understand the constitution to realize the issue at hand and I would not go into its details here. A resolution to change the wordings of the constitution in relation to the Women's Wing was proposed and accepted. Earlier I had also proposed that the submission of the SDNU membership forms by SIDS members be extended until the end of this year and also requested to waive the SDNU membership fees for 2 years. We await for the next course of actions by SIDS/SDNU on the matter.

2. Annual dialogue with branch chairman - In the years that I had been with SIDS; there had never been a dialogue session with the Chairman and the Executive Committee. I suggested that this should be arranged as it is important to meet and discuss various aspects of Dayak women issues/development. I had also mentioned the possibility of composing the Dayak Women Agenda.

In this matter, Datuk Senator had asked each one of the branch chairmen to come up with ideas/agenda for discussions; so I hope all of us will do that. Let us take up the challenge and get back to Datuk in a month!!

3. Organize annual program e.g. seminar/development program - a seminar should be organized annually for Dayak women to educate/develop us in various fields/subjects. Where would the budget come from? That was part of the problem raised. Annually, the State government gives grant to SIDS which could be used for this purpose or it could also be through smart partnership with other agencies in organizing the event.

That's all my thoughts to be shared ... others ... keep to myself!!! :D

Bala Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak bertemu ...

Bala Sarakup begempuru di Kuching ujung minggu (28.2.09) tu ngulu aum besai SIDS. Bisi 15 orang bala pengari ngulu aum ari Sibu. Semua pampang di Sarawak bisi nganjung pengari - 23 iti pampang lalu lebih 200 bala indu bisi baum. Nitih ke rekod SIDS HQ, diatu bisi 12,229 bala kaban (12,300+ kaban disebut malam 28.2.09) di Sarawak ke aktif. Enti di tinjau ari segi pemayoh tubuh bala indu Dayak/Iban di Sarawak, tu semina peratusan ke mit aja. Ni bala ke bukai? Ulih kitai begempuru alam Sarakup? Laban munyi ke orang, enti tubuh kitai mayoh, jako kitai dipending/didinga orang agi. [Udah aku belalak, aku mantai ke penemu ke lebih agi pasal pekara ke dikerandau ke dalam aum.]

Gaga ati ketegal ulih betemu maya aum nya enggau pagan-pagan lama serta mega bekelala enggau pagan ke baru dalam Sarakup ...
