Bowling Adventure ....

Hari enam tu kemari, pengawa kami duai menyanak ianya enggau bala Sarakup bermain Bowling! SIDS Sibu bisi ngatur pekit bowling antara kawasan; ketegal enda chukup tubuh deka enggau ... tudah Val di-regista aku. Rindu amat kami sebuat. Tem ari kawasan Maludan, bisi 8 iko kami - bala opis aku ditarit bai aku enggau. Tu bala kaban baru, bala biak bala graduan gawa sama se opis. Nie enda chapo kami sebuat!

Aku se-tem enggau ala geng ibu-ibu Tenggau, Cathe & Endu Dely; Val se-tem engau Lynda (endang pandai bermain) serta Elizabeth & Mundun (boleh tahan seduai, pengudah nuchi parit dua tiga kali! haha). Tem aku, legis amat parit kami sebuat dituchi kami duai Cathe; iya nuh pandai sepandai penyuah kali ngayun ke bol! Aku mayoh agi bol di-ayun, nuh pedis agi ngah punggung enggau jari! Nie ke di-anjung mewakil Sarawak (munyi ko staf aku siko alam FB!! hahaha)

On Saturday, Val and I joined the Sarakup ladies ffor a Bowling Competition. The morning was Fun & Hilarious!! Just love the antics of the ladies!! haha Some were 1st timers and others have played a couple of times. My daughter and I were in two separate teams (arranged such) so; and we both had lots of fun!

Our teams won the 1st & 2nd placing .. hooray!!!! My daughter's team won 1st place whilst my team won 2nd placing! Hope that we get to do this every year! It was great fun and good networking with the members and families! Next time, maybe should get the spouses/partners to participate also!


Tem ari Maludan menang penuduk no 1 & 2 ... hooray!!! Tem Val, Elizabeth, Mundun & Lynda bulih no 1; lalu tem aku, Cathe, Tengga & Dely bulih penuduk no 2! Prais kami sebuat; container tupperware!! Laban ke mayoh bala ibu ... gaga nerima prais ke baka nya! Diatas, gambar kami enggau sida prais!

Tu tem kami bergaya sebedau belaboh bepekit! Bakal wakil SIDS Sibu magang tu!!

Anak Enggau Orang Bepekit Ngaga Blog!

Lebih kurang dua minggu tu, anak aku enggau kawan iya Jewel ngagau ngaga blog iya laban ke deka enggau orang betanding alam Pertanding Educational Blogging Peringkat Kebangsaan 2011 ke belaboh 12 Mei ngagai 15 Julai 2011 tu kemari.

Skop, kategori enggau prais semua di padah, lalu anak aku tu bendar ka bulih iPad! Orang udah belaboh ngaga rekabentuk ari bulan Mei suba; tang iya baru ngaga 2 minggu! Pedis pala aku ngira rekabentuk iya tu.

Cikgu nulong ko kenu; tang meh nadai ngah aku meda? Kawan iya ngah nulong ko, bisi ubah mimit ngah peda aku ari segi kala! Aku tu nadai tentu diandal ke nulong, laban ke enda bagat nemu.

My girl and her friend decided to join an education blog design contest! It begun in May of this year and ended last week; but of course, my darling girl only started 3 weeks ago! Both of them have been working on it for about 5 days of about 3 hrs each day! I was supervising the last session and there were lots of giggling and so I had to tell to do certain things or add certain design! Girls!! Please drop by the website and give your comments here! If its under their age category, maybe there's a chance; but when I saw last year's winner! Those were so professionally done!

Pengawa Ujung Minggu ...

Ujung minggu tu kemari, aku tek ngagau laban siko ari anak kaban aku kahwin. Iya nuh berasai 'tuai' meh tu; laban bala anak-anak ngah nuh kahwin! Laban munyi ko sida, belaki biak; tumu beranak, tumu ngah bisi menantu! :) Aku udah ngelala kaban aku tu lebih ari 20 taun; laban ke belaboh aku kerja ditu, aku lalu ngelala iya. Baka diri madik ngah tua iya begulai. Sebilik semua dikelala magang!

This weekend had been filled with some official & private activities; and I enjoyed each moment! It started with Saturday, when I attended my best friend's daughter wedding! Wow, just reminded me that the years are adding up! arrrghhh


Anak enggau menantu iya, sama bela ingeniur! Nie enda untung iya! Tang laban ke ngena adat Cina; nguwai ke sepiak sida ke laki meh anak iya. Sinu ngah aku meda iya. Nya ko menantu iya; anang irau mak, nemuai belama kami duai lalu seduai tau ngah nemuai. Manah endal ngah menantu iya nya!


I was not so good about moving around and taking pictures; so I had to make do with taking a picture from the screen! The POB, on the left, and the POBG making a toast at the Sibu dinner!

Sida iya rami tiga (3) kali. Ke-datas nya, sida rami mit di Sibu; aku laban ke malu segau-segau ngambi gambar ari skrin aja. Makai malam nya, sampal kami sebilik enggau sida sebilik serta bala kaban-kaban ke di Sibu.

Val and I tried out our new London dresses to the dinner; and just lovely dresses! Actually I love these dresses so much, should have bought more ... its was sale season also in London! But at that time, it was just so difficult to choose, too many choices!! But these dresses I admired 4 days before I actually purchased them!! So you know now, am a slow shopper!! haha

Tu gaya kami duai menyanak enggau makai kahwin! Agi LAMA aku nganti rami anak aku tu!!! Enda beruban!!! Udah bulih nge-empat tupi segi baru diasoh!! hahaha!

The whole family were invited to the 1st wedding dinner for Keyna & Sing Wei in Sibu; and it was a small gathering of family & friends. Thank you for including us in your circle of family/friends. It was a traditional Chinese wedding dinner with some singing; and of course, yours truly was asked to present a number.

I also made it to the Kuching church blessing/wedding, lunch & dinner - yup the whole works! Did I mentioned that Anna (the mother) is one of my very best friend and we had known each other for more than 20 years! She's like a sister to me!! As mothers, we are extremely close to our daughters; and we constantly talked about ours! So I am close to the her children (all adults, now) as she is to mine! So when she invited me to join her in the ceremonies also in Kuching, I just could not refuse! So off I go; after 2 months advance notice!!

Aku bisi mega dikagau ke sida sebilik enggau rami di Kuching, laban ke bisi ngatur kahwin gereja di St. Joseph Cathedral lalu makai malam aba Grand Magerita. Enggau meh tudah aku, nyelat bala ke nuh tekucha bejako Mandarin & Foochow! haha! Merangsang diri merati ke jako orang. Tekuchau meh aku berandau enggau bala iya bercampur aduk jako 5 bahasa - Melayu, Foochow, Mandarin, Inggeris & bahasa jari!

Here's the Bride (B) Keyna with her mom, Anna, and I. She is such a gorgeous BRIDE!!!

Keyna tu bacik amat. Dipeda aku ari mit kelia; diatu nuh besai serta ngelaboh ke pengidup baru!

Aku mega dibai sida tumu pagi, jam 7 pagi; meda sida ke laki ngambi indu nitih ke adat Cina. Nya meh sida mega bisi stail ber-kota serta ditambah ke enggau main. Aku ketawa aja-aja meda telatak sida. Amat enda nemu semua jako sida, tang meh nangkap seleka dua. Kadang-kadang nanya ibu Keyna ke dua iko ngah aku. Kami tiga ke meda orang ber-kota! Indai & apai Keyna nya nyaga dibilik; kami tiga diasoh orang meda dibaroh; lalu enda ngasoh ngelepas ke Laki iya nya enti kota enda betul! Nya lah, baka ke nemu meh aku tu! Tang ke bendar, kami tiga sama bela enda tentu nemu!!

I was witness to the Chinese culture of the BG picking up the B; and all the antics of the B's friends on the BG's parties. It was great fun; and its at times like these that I wish I could speak/understand Foochow & Mandarin, fluently!!! hahaha Yes, I was the sole Ikan Patin in the fishbowl of Ikan Kelik!! hahahaha Honestly, I didn't feel out of place; as I was the curious one getting anybody who was near me to explain what's going on! On that day, I get to use all my language skills - speaking 5 languages ie Malay, English, Foochow, Mandarin and the ever useful hand signals when all fails!! If I must say so myself, I get along so well and understood most of the going on.

At this dinner, Chung & Anna just LOVE to hear me sing my only Chinese Mandarin number (so now even her SIL will know me as the Aunty Ir who LOVES to sing); and so I was called to sing! Yup, there I was a non-Mandarin speaker entertaining about 240 Chinese guests to a Mandarin number! If I may say so myself, I did a GREAT job!! haha!

Aku tu endang tukang belagu ke Anna & Chung! Bala madik iya pandai magang belagu tang sida nya enda tentu manchal lalu emun endal aba pengerami. Ka pen enda, kaban bendal amat-amat ngasoh. Belagu meh tudah aku ... lagu Cina ke siti aja ke di temu aku. Nya baru nyadi endal, belagu ke sida Cina ke nemu Mandarin, paduhal aku tu enda nemu Mandarin!!

So friends, if anyone of you need a Wedding singer; that's my NEW moonlighting side-job!! At the right 'price', I will be there! ;) haha!

Kawan Di Rumah Panjai ...

Kami kemari bisi ke rumah panjai, lalu ngaga meh anak aku ketegal betemu enggau kawan-kawan mit iya. Sida iay bersulu di bilik, ngirup, makai kuih, etc sehari-hari. Datai aku ngalih hari, sempat ngah aku ngambi gambar sida tiga. Sama cantik, sama cute magang sida tu!!

Belelang enda lama ....

Minggu nyin kemari aku sempat ke London seminggu ketegal kerja. Sambil kerja, aku mega sempat bejalai nemuai ngagai sekeda endor di luar kota London; laban progrim digaga betemu enggau bala diluar kota.

Aku endang rindu endal meda menoa diluar kota London, laban setiap endor endang bisi sejarah magang. Munyi ko kawan aku, iya diau aba rumah ke berumur lebih 100 taun; tang iya enda tentu berati ke pemanah tauka sejarah. Dibai sida iya aku ke Oxford serta di pelilir Leighton Buzzard - nya alai sambil berandau ke pengawa, sempat mega raun meda menoa.

Penemuai aku sekali tu endang meda countryside England, makai pemakai sida 'pudding', serta nyium sida angin luar kota!

Siti ari countryside ke dilawa aku semak Leighton Buzzard, lebih kurang 40min kena keretapi ari London. Munyi ko kawan aku nya, penyukup jauh ari kota London ngambi diau ke luar bandar, tan penyukup semak ari kota London ngambi ulih dilawa setiap hari enti bisi pengawa!

This trip I had a wonderful time visiting the English countryside with friends (Stephen for taking the time to be with me in Oxford and Jo for the other sites!); it was partly work (with Jo) and just purely for pleasure with Stephen. Had a wonderful time exploring the sites! Lest you think it was a pleasure trip; no such luck .... I was in London for a conference and was given an opportunity to once again present a paper. A very well received paper and I was honored that most of them enjoyed it and were vocal enough to tell me so - later! Of course, I planned it such that the work part was mixed with pleasure. I had a meeting with Jo Parker, a specialist in water management, and instead of meeting in London, we met in the countryside!

Bandar Oxford University tu chukup manah endal peda aku. Aku endang lama udah ka nyenguk kitu, nie nemu bala anak belajar kitu kini ila; ngambi udah ngah ngelala menoa mimit. Sehari suntuk aku enggau kaban belajai ditu. Kaki ukai main enda pedis pengelama bejalai.

Oxford University which in itself is full of history and being there, I feel so 'learned'! What a priviledge to study in such a place and hope one day I will get to do that or my daughter will?

Siti ari endor kolej mit di Ashridge ke dilawa. Chukup manah serta 'posh' endor tu serta 'formal' endal. Endor tu enda dibuka ke orang mayoh; tang ketegal kaban aku nya nyadi 'kaban' endor tu; ulih lah tama meda pemanah endor. Utai irup & pemakai disedia ke 'kaban' lalu ulih mega releks. Pun kayu, bunga etc semua chukup manah magang!

Aku ngambi gambar apai tuai tu nuchi cermin tingkat 3 enggau tali ke chukup panjai. Enti dimenoa nuh bejelakit bala kitai aba jendela. Kena iya penyambung, iya nuchi pen baka ke senang endal.

Bala kami ke indu ke enggau ragak sepiak. Ke sepiak kanan nya, kitai se-menoa ke jadi enggau sida din ie laki iya enggau kami. Lalu laki iya pengudah betemu eggau aku, lalu nyebut bini iya mesti betemu enggau aku laban semenoa!

A wonderful couple, and I spend the next evening with them at China town for dinner - Thank You for fulfiling a craving!!! After days of not eating rice, I was 'desperate' for rice!! I note here that I enjoyed western food but after days, rice rice rice, please!
