Reunion ...

Friendship is so precious ...

Last night, I had the opportunity of reconnecting with 7 of my primary 6 classmates, and it was a night filled with joy & laughter. It seems like only yesterday that we left school, and we were able to reconnect even after decades of not meeting! Only 4 of us had met off and on over the years; with a few hellos here and there, a promise to have a get-together .. until last night, it finally happened.

Thank you SieLiung for getting us all together, IngLieng for the wonderful cheesecake that the ladies LOVE, HuaOng do come home more often for the delicious food & great company, and AiLing, Doris, Wesley & Suhaimi for the great company & tales; and ALL for the memorable fellowship.

Aku tu nyadi dreba anak seminggu tu; iya madah bisi pengawa rami di sekula pagi tu tadi. Dani lah tumu pagi, nganjung iya. Laban anak tampun puji aku tu rindu amat enggau orang bemain, nya alai iya enggau orang menari poco-poco. Cikgu ke ngajar, Cikgu Embai (siko ari kaban SIDS Sibu). Pengerami diatur begulai 2 iti sekula ianya St. Mary & SJK Methodist.

This morning 2 primary schools in Sibu, namely St. Mary & SJK Methodist, jointly organized the Childrens' Day Get-Together. I think only the classes of year 5 were involved, with some teachers. Unfortunately, both the principals were not present and only a selective group of teachers were present. A small event.

As usual, I assimilate myself into the crowd and was invited to sit with the teachers (maybe one of a handful of parent asked - as all surrounding me were teachers!) ; and thus, had a great seat to take pictures & video of my darlin' dancing!

The Methodist young ladies .. ops .. young girls did an excellent poco number! Okay, I admit I am biased! :D The St Mary young girls & boys did a great attempt to sing; however, spoil by the fact that there was no microphone and their sweet voices were too soft. At the end, they sang LOUD ... to be heard. Excellent performance all!

Penemu rambang ...

Bulan tu ngagau amat; asai ke tek bekerja belama! Ujung minggu pen bisi pengawa sosial ke enda tau enda dilawak ngah! Nyangka enda lama agi Pilihan Raya meh nya kini!

Taun tu, mayoh bala indu kitai Dayak/Iban ari menoa pesisir ke deka enggau berSarakup. Tuboh ke ka enggau masuk, jauh amat betambah. Nuka setiap bulan, endang bisi nerima jako tanya pasal muka Kawasan baru. Bisi 2/3 iti peminta diatu benong diputar ka, lalu nyangka disambut taun baru. Taun tu nuh nadai hari nemuai agi. Arap ke bala sama-sama besabar.

Penangul bala kaban ari menoa pesisir tu ketegal enda ulih dilawak serta sida mega bisi penangul enggau aktiviti di pasar. Diatu benong berunding ka bakani kitai ulih ngulai ke pengawa, ngambi bala indu Iban di menoa pesisir ulih enggau ngulu pengawa di pasar, sekurang-kurangnya 2 kali setaun. Laban pengawa ke besai diadu setiap taun ianya - Aum Besai Sekali Setaun & Seminar Pemansang.

Berita Lama: Mayoh randau aba suratkhabar ke besebut ke Miss Dayak Sarawak 2009 ===== > nyadi =====> Miss Borneo Beautiful 2009 diatu! Maya aku macha berita ke terubah, reaksi aku endang siti aja - nama nepoh bangsa alam penama pekit? Berita ke dudi-dudi, kitai sama bela nemu - bisi nya enda setuju, bisi bala ke setuju. Tang penemu SIDS nyemetak - enda setuju ke ngena leka jako bangsa 'Dayak' alam penama pekit. SIDS tu siti gerempong kitai indu Dayak, ke siti aja serta pengambis besai, ke ngemata ke penglikun kitai, lalu sida mega ngena tinjau ke jauh. Sama-sama meh kitai nyukong visi, misi & objektif SIDS!

Tahniah ngagai Dato Sri Tra Zehnder! Gaga amat ati aku meda gambar siko ari indu Iban pengasas SIDS nerima anugerah ari perintah besai TOKOH 1MALAYSIA.

A great example of an Iban Woman of Distinction! I thought I wanted to write more about her in Iban, I couldn't put it into words; so I turned to English ... yet, I couldn't put my thoughts into writing!

Just wanted to say - today my heart is filled with pride & joy at this great honor to Dato Sri Tra, an Iban woman whom I know & admire. One of the pioneers of Sarakup, and she had created many 'first' in her work/career ... I dare not recite for fear that I would miss some - but from her stories/recital, just to mention, which had stuck in my mind:-

• intrumental in getting Gawai Dayak to be declared as a public holiday,
• elected Council Negeri (Iban woman),
• Temenggong,

Congratulation!!

Pengerami Ulangtaun 20 SIDS Sibu ...

It was a night filled with emotions, joy, etc ... turning 20 for SIDS, Sibu was a great coming of age!

One of the event was the launching of the SIDS, Sibu blog. This is not a new idea; Sebugey certainly have pave the path. SIDS Sibu is just following the great path of one of the 'great' woman of SIDS!
So with plenty of assistance from Ms Michelle Anthony, who created & design the blog, came up with 3D software (free, she tells me!), etc etc ... and I was only too happy to put it in the program for the anniversary! A new era for SIDS, Sibu!
