Pemansang kitai Indu Iban ...

Mayoh pengawa ke dikerja bulan Mac tu kemari, lalu semua berkaul enggau kitai indu Dayak/Iban. Pemansang kitai endang patut diperati ka lalu di atur manah agi ngambi kitai ulih berdiri sama tinggi. Pelajar & pangkat nya semina dua iti ari pemansang ke dipupuk kitai. Pemansang alam pengawa dagang, pemansang ngenuai ke diri serta mayoh agi pekara mega sekeda pekara ke deka dipupuk kitai. Kena pun bulan Mac tu kemari, aku enggau Uchi & Sinah bisi dikagau betemu enggau Perdana Menteri Malaysia alam siti progrim 1Karisma di Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. Rindu ngah enggau - taja aku endang enda rindu enggau orang besekut, bebaris ... lama! Terima kasih ngagai Biro Wanita Sarawak ke udah bisi SIDS, Sibu peluang ngari ke kitai indu Iban ke pengawa tu.



Maya nya kemari, kami tiga ianya siti gerup bala indu eknik Sarawak alam progrim nya. Bala sida indu Bidayuh (DBNA), indu Kayan & Orang Ulu mega bisi enggau. Tang ke sayau amat, pengari ari indu eknik ke diasoh sida bejako ngari ke kami ianya ari gerempong Women for Women, Margaret Bedus; lalu taja iya kaban SIDS serta indu Iban; buah jako iya ngari ke gerempong iya lalu enda nyengkaum bala bukai. Ringat amat bala sida ke bukai ninga buah jako iya!

Maya nya mega bisi betemu enggau YB Deputy Speaker Dewan/Senator Doris Brodie, siko indu kitai Iban ke udah mujur bendar alam pengawa iya.

Kena pun Mac tu kemari, SIDS Sibu mega bisi ngatur siti seminar serimbai enggau Aum Taun; lalu temuai kami maya nya iany Profesor Madya Dr. Madeline Berma siko ari indu kitai Iban ke landik bendar. Iya profesor di Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia serta mega megai pengawa pemansang orang indu di universiti nya. Terima kasih ngagai iya ke ulih limpang bejako setengah hari tentang pemansang indu Iban.

Tuai-Tuai SIDS Sibu 2012-2013

Lemai nya, SIDS Sibu mega ngatur bepilih ke tuai-tuai. Terima kasih ke pengarap ke udah diberi kita ke aku agi megai serta nambah ke pengawa pemansang kitai indu Iban kelebih agi di Sibu. Tuju pengawa ke taun tu mega ianya:-
1. Ngerembai ke Sarakup ke bala indu Iban di menoa pesisir,
2. Ngemansang ke bala Indu alam pengawa dagang, pelajar, & ngenuai (leadership),
3. Ngenan ke main asal - taun tu, kajat, kerja jari (pua kumbu & tangu), serta
4. Ngansak bala indu Iban ke biak/bepelajar enggau masuk Sarakup.


Ujung bulan Mac tu kemari, sekula Methodist Secondary/Primary bisi ngatur gempuru besai ngingat ke sekula dua iti tu udah 110 taun. Maya nya, gaga ati ketegal sempat betemu enggau bala kaban ke lama! Asai ke baru kemari ke tetundi berandau duduk aba parit mit sekula; diatu nuh udah berumur serta uban pun mayoh sekeda! Ke taun tu semina ulih betemu enggau lebih kurang 10 orang aja. Arap ke taun ke dudi ila, ulih betemu mayoh agi!

Tu iya gambar kami sebuat!! Peda sida ke indu ke mayoh agi ka betemu. Nie sida ke laki?!

Lubuk Lebak! Lubuk Lebak! Tu kedua kali aku ngagai menoa atas bukit tu di Sarikei. Manah amat menoa, lalu enti dimaju ke ulih baka English countryside diatas bukit! Bala Indu Methodist ditu mayoh tang semina 18 orang aja ke enggau nyadi kaban. Puji Tuhan kali kedua aku kitu; mayoh agi bala datai ninga ke ajar/aum Pelajar Sehari. Penyaum & Pengarap kitai mesti bisi enti kitai ka ngerja pengawa. Lalu aku meda, bala indu ditu kelalu dikokong siko indu kitai; nyangka enggai belaya meh nya - munyi ko siko ari indu ke dia!

Working on it ...

Its a constant battle for me to seek the Lord's mission/purpose in my life. Personally, I know what I want to do and I work towards achieving my personal goal. However, I do wonder whether my personal goal is what the Lord wants me to do. What is His calling? What is His purpose for me? These questions at times leave me puzzled, and at times I do realize there might have been situations where its My Purpose Vs His Purpose! One thing I do know is that - I shouldn't be AFRAID, as He is with me!

Second thing I do know (or think I do :D) is that He wanted me to be involved with Women Ministry whereby He 'drag' me to serve, filled with lots of fear & uncertainty. Since that fateful day in 1990; He has placed me where I shouldn't be, He has connected me with people whom I shouldn't know, and He has equipped me where I am clueless! Thank You Lord for your continual presence and guidance!

Lubuk Lembak, Sarikei on 11/2/2012 doing Women Ministry

Over the weekend, I visited two (2) longhouses at two (2) different areas ie Lubuk Lembak, Sarikei and Ng. Assan, Sibu and having to deal with different groups of women and challenges. It took me almost 2 hours driving to reach this beautiful longhouse, crossing many mountains (small) and rivers to reach Lubuk Lembak. I was expecting to meet up with several of the Methodist women; and these women remind me of the 'bent woman'. How to resolve? How to 'free' these woman? Its interesting to see how the Satan works within our women, our church, and our community. I will be returning to the same place next month; so pray for me so that I would have the wisdom and His grace to resolve/handle the situation!

The next longhouse I visited is Ng Assan, longhouse sweet longhouse! I am so thankful and happy to see the women growth in their faith! Alleluyah!! I want to hug each and every single women there!!! However, I didn't - I didn't want to shock them!! haha That's how happy I am! Not only have their faith grown and strengthen; it has transmit to the children ie their children!! Children Ministry had started in the longhouse, again!! The Children Ministry was in place decades ago; but it stopped - the why? Don't know :) In this, I want to thank the Ipoh church for creating the interest for the children!

This women ministry outreach will form part of my activities for this year and please pray for me as I venture into this. Pray for the strength, good health, wisdom, and the finances - so that I could do it well with a heart full of love, joy, and peace.

Methodist Women ...

Ujung minggu timpoh aku dibagi ke Gereja/Bala Indu; Aum Betaun Bala Indu Methodist, Sarawak Iban Annual Conference serta masa nya chukup 'berkat' endal aba aku.

Bala BOD benong ngulu ke aum, ninga report Pemegai Wang.

Sebedau kami baum kena hari satu (7.11.2011), kami bisi pemalatih sehari ianya ke besangkut enggau tema gereja Methodist seMalaysia. Ngeremai ke Jaku Tuhan, Ngubah Raban Mensia (Spreading Spiritual Holiness, Transforming the Nation). Lalu sehari - hari kemari kami ninga ke ajar ke chukup manah ari Rev. Thomas Lau, siko pengajar/paderi ari Methodist Theological Seminary di Sibu ditu. Iya mai ajar:-

1. Ngubah Diri Nengah Jaku Kristus (Transforming Self Through Christ Words), enggau
2. Ngubah Bala Indu - Perampa (Transforming Methodist Women (Iban), the Way Forward)

Siti dah ajar ianya ari Pn. Winnie Chan, ke ngemantai ke nama reti nyadi indu Kristian ke meruan.

Sebedau aum tu kemari, aku mega selalu besampi nama utai ke patut disebut aku maya aku bejako ngagai Bala Indu. Aku tu tadi Vice President Bala Indu Methodist SIAC, lalu kami bisi pengerami lemai ke terubah kena ngiga belanja. Pedis aku betati ke bakani jako aku enggau sida bala indu Kristian. Enti iya bala Sarakup, enda iboh di sedia - aku endang selalau bersebut ke pemansang kitai indu Iban. Aku besampi ke utai ke dibai aku ie jako aku. Pengasai aku leka ke selalu pansut di ati serta di runding aku ianya leka jaku tu - garam, pelita/api, bent woman - nya alai nya meh mesej aku malam nya. Lalu pengudah nya ditambah aku enggau - teamwork, penyaum, pengampun.

Enda mukai-mukai, semua bala paderi ke bejako pengudah nya pen lalu ngerembai ke jako aku nya.

Bala Paderi-paderi gereja Methodist belagu enggau Aksi ... Jesus Kayu, Aku dan iya etc etc ...

It was a long weekend - Saturday to Monday - I was involved with the confrerence of Methodist Women of the Sarawak Iban Annual Conference. It was really fulfilling and I am so inspired, touched, and motivated after listening to two papers presented by Rev. Thomas Lau (preacher/lecturer at the Methodist Theological Seminary. His mesages were right on spot on Transformation!

Charity Food Fair - Blind Center ...

Sepagi tu tadi, kami duai menyanak tumu dani laban ke enggau orang begau bejual barang aba Bukit Lima Blind Center. BLBC tu endang setiap taun ngatur food fair ujung bulan Oktober lalu ulih sida lebih kurang RM300k kini, ketegal orang2 ke organize tu endang orang2 ke jutawan ditu. Rindu ngah enggau meda pengerami orang bala mayoh.

Macam-macam barang ke dijual orang, bala penghuni Blind Center berjual ke bakul-bakul wie sida, lalu bala ke bukai mayoh nyual pemakai; enti enda salah ingat aku bisi 20 iti stal kini. Rega barang ke dijual belaboh ari RM1.00 ngagai RM200.00; terpulai ngagai bala pembeli nie ke deka sida. Barang ke selalu 'famous' endal ianya siti pau janik sida dijual beribu - so keni ka ngelaban nya!? :D Tang nya endang jalai kena sida meri aja, dagih ke aku!

This morning was spent at the Bukit Lima Blind Center Open House; its an annual fundraising event of food sales towards for this private Blind Center. Their food fair is very successful and they earn about RM300k for this annually. The committee members are also 'big shot' and contribute lots to this center.

All sorts of food are sold; dried, cooked, raw, etc and the prices ranged from RM1.00 (kompia with meat) to RM200.00 (rotan baskets made by the inmates). Their products is always a sold out. The famous item for sale here is the meaty bun which sold for thousands each - unbeatable price! :D

Kami sebuat ke datai jam 7:30am aba Center nyaga stal BI.

Taun tu, aku ngawa begulai enggau Bala Indu Methodist SIAC muka stal. Ka enda, enggai nyadi laban sida keran mai aku kemari. Tang sigi enda dalam atur nulong ditu. Beberapa taun dulu suba, selalu SIDS Sibu mega bisi enggau mantu. Tang nya meh, pengawa tu selalu berserak antara BI, SIDS & BI Katolik - kaban lebih kurang sama. Nya alai, SIDS mutus ke enda enggau belaboh ari beberapa taun ke udah.

Aku, Pn. Tarusa, Pn. Rosalind, Pn. Maggie & Pn. Rose ke nyaga stal sepagi nya.

Utai ke dijual BI ianya beras aja. Nya dibai dijual sida, nya meh iya. Mayoh bala nanya ke pansuh taun tu. Nadai kami sebuat tu ngaga. Bala ke ditu kerja magang semina siko ke enda, lalu iya enda ulih ngerja utai nya kediri. Nya alai, nyangka bisi kurang meh stal ke sekali tu.

Angry Burger ke dijual sida; manah endal! Tu sida baru datai bepanok ke burger. Naka meh pengelaku meh burger sida tu.

Bala pengatur berjalai nyenguk setiap stal.

DAP pen bisi nulong, lalu YB Wong Ho Leng empu nyaga stal. Lelak aku sepagi-pagi ninga sida rauk-rauk ngagau ke orang meli 'Ho Leng Pau'! Stal ke sepiak sida pen rauk-rauk nyual ai distil! Nya iya!! Pedis pala aku!!


Clarence Ting, MD Tanahmas Hotel ke mega kaban, nyenguk stal, nama agi lalu diasoh meli berau 2 kambut!! Iya mega bejanji meli semua beras enti maya udah tutup agi bisi laluh! Puji Tuhan serta terima kasih Clarence!! Aku nuh pulai tumu, enda nemu keni ke penuju barang. Tang maya aku din; bisi ngah 5 iti kambut ie 1 gantang sekambut empai ambis!

Baum ngator Progrim Bala Indu Methodist ke Bulan November tu ila ...

Pagi kemari, sekeda bala BOD berandau ke pasal Makai Malam Ngiga Belanja ke Bala Indu Methodist SIAC & Progrim Aum BOD ke 48 bulan November tu ila. Laban ke komiti bala ke 'biak' (aku disangkum enggau gerup biak tu! :D ), diak deh ulih selik agi nyusun pengawa. Serta kadang2, atur diluar 'standard' peribadi aku; ulih nutup mata mimit, laban enti aku kelalu udu meri penemu & bejako nuh nyelai ngah iya.

Awak ke Allah Taalah merkat ke pengawa kami tu meh. Gerup kami tu semua rajin ngerja pengawa. Puji Tuhan mega ke sokong bala indu/kaban ke bukai.

Bala kami ke baru, tang meh ari mayoh sitak, nya alai 'pedis' ngumpul baum.

Yesterday morning, the Methodist Women (MW) BOD met to discss the details of the fundraising dinner and annual meeting scheduled in November. We thank the Lord for his guidance to ensure the success of both activities and the kindred spirit of cooperation among the sisters!

Concert Gereja ...

Kemari, kami duai menyanak nurun meda konsert ke diatur gereja kami Methodist SIAC; tang tak asai ke meda concert SCAC aku! haha Muzik sida endang chukup manah; tang meh lebat agi lagu nya dinyanyi alam bahasa mandarin.

Yesterday, we went to a concert in aid of the Gereja Methodist Church SIAC towards their church building fund & maintenance of the Methodist Iban Center. Its sad to note that my local church, Gereja Methodist Ng Assan, was not in the list of the churches to be built within the next 5 years. Somewhere along the line, the local pastor had not done anything to include it in the list; although I am sure all knows about it! Well ... the Lord will provide.





The concert ... it was great! Organized by the Methodist SIAC, and mostly the music was Chinese ... with a about 40% English numbers! My initial thought was ... oh no, the Iban church members are NOT going to enjoy this! The audiences were also mostly SCAC Chinese church members with a handful of SIAC Iban church members (I think countable!). Maybe, this is another mis-judgment. This also reminds me of the 60th SIAC anniversary dinner - whereby it looked like a Chinese function instead of an Iban function. Church leaders need to be firm in this in the meeting!






I heard that the money collected was only about RM16,000 (yours truly contributed about 20% to the collection), and tickets sold were about another RM2,000 (maybe?); thus, it did not meet the target collection/donation of RM100,000.00.






I used complimentary tickets and so our seats were right in the front row! Hoorah, and we got great views of the entire concert!

Here we are, just before the start of the concert; and I believe that the Xin Fu Yuan Methodist Church were full. I was lucky to have a Mandarin translator right beside me! :)

Kami duai menyanak sebedau konsert belaboh. Nasib siko ari kami duai nemu jako Mandarin, ulih meh kena mereti ke nama utai ko orang!

The soprano, Stella Zhou, and tenor, Timothy Huang, doing their opening number. They are both great singers! I would have enjoyed more ... if I understand Mandarin! But the music were great! Just love it!

The Tampin Choir comprising youth, members & Pastor Chiam - their songs were just so lovely and touching! I love the piano player - one of their youth - when he plays the piano, he makes me feel so happy that I want to get up and sit beside him and just hit the ivories!!! hahaha If only I could play as well ... alas, I am a terrible pianist!! Yes, folks; I can hit a few good notes; but not too many! ;)

This is the famous Grace Singers Choir - they sing very well! I was shock to see that one of their member is my SWB staff!!

One of two contribution from SIAC, a Ngajat troupe from the Kpg Bahagia Jaya preaching point, and the other was a sape' player. Both did very well; however, I wished there were more performers in English/Bahasa/Iban ... then it would feel more like a SIAC concert rather than a SCAC concert!

Berita bulan April tu kemari ...

Nyampau meh pemayoh pengawa bulan April tu kemari. Kadang-kadang enda chukup jam endor ngereja pengawa; nyengkaum pengawa opis, Sarakup Indu Dayak, Bala Indu Methodist, enggau pengawa bukai. Taja sibuk, tang rindu mega ati ngerja iya ketegal pemansang kitai indu Dayak alam pelbagai segi.

Cerita tu ditusi nadai ripih, lebih nitih ke gambar-gambar ke dibantai. Aku tu selalu enda sempat ngambi gambar ketegal ke enda lanchat mansut ke kamera, nya alai nadai tentu mayoh gambar.

It took me a while, but finally I am able to put out my acitivities in April which are varied and many! I had a lot of fun attending/speaking at some of these functions from the NGO that I am involved with.

Pengujung bulan Mac (nya neh, bisi cerita bulan Mac!) tu kemari, Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak bisi ngator Aum Besai Sekali Alam DuaTaun di Kuching. Lalu maya nya suba, bala indu Iban di Kuching mega bisi nubuh ke siti gerempong Iban Women Charitable Trust Fund (IWCT) kena nulong bala kitai. Visi, Misi & Objektif sida udah ditulis; lalu diatu nganti progrim sida meh. Maya malam nya, pengudah Aum Besai; IWCT & SIDS bisi ngatur progrim makai malam. Dia setiap pampang SIDS bisi diberi geran nitih ke peng-aktif. Aku gaga ati, madah ke kami di Sibu diberi RM25,000 lalu dagih ke aku, pampang ke-2 paling aktif! Terima kasih IWCT! Pengandal aku & bala di Sibu ke SIDS & IWCT tu endang besai, lalu arap meh ke SIDS/IWCT tu ulih nyadi tunjak ngatur serta ngemansang ke semua kitai indu Iban!

The SIDS held its TGM in Kuching, and it was attended by all its branches; and its business as usual. We need to make a greater impact within the community, and hope that the leadership will do it. The time for action is now, in view that we have talked or 'dream' of it for decades.

I took the opportunity also to visit the Kuching South Sejiwa Senada program, and its wonderful and enjoyed the almost 3 hours visit to ALL the stalls!! Why? Well, there was a contest to win a car and participants had to visit certain stalls to get their 'stamps' to get an opportunity for the draw. I am still driving my 'old' car!! Yeah, I didn't win!! Next time! (I am also hoping to win the JACKPOT ... Mary & Jenny are relying on it!! hahaha!! so that the three of us could go to London! haha! ) Met up with some friends/colleagues also while there; water people always stick together. It was a nice fellowship with others.

Maya ke di Kuching hari nya, aku sempat nemuai ngagai progrim Sejiwa Senada ke diatur Kuching South. Rindu diri ngah meda stal sida. Tang meh nuh berpeluh-peluh aku ke berjalai din! Maya nya mayoh endal kaban ke enggau betemu ari opis-opis perintah. Nuh rindu berandau, ukai meda utai!

SIDS Sibu mega ngatur AGM, lalu bala komiti baru dipilih ngenuai ke Sarakup setaun agi. Alam komiti sekali tu, semina bisi siko kaban komiti baru, ianya Endu Michelle Anthony. Tahniah. Kami endang ngasak bala ke biak2 & ke bepelajar sama-sama enggau, ngambi bisi meri penemu & cara baru. Sekali tu bisi lebih kurang 250 bala kaban bisi enggau. Taun baru, target sekurang-kurangnya 1000 bala kaban enggau! Arap ke ulih!!

Your truly was re-elected to lead SIDS Sibu for another term. Thank you ladies for your confidence in my leadership, and hope that we would be able to move ahead this year. We have been trying to get our members & Sarakup to be seen and heard over the last 10 years and it seems that we're bearing fruits now! Our request for consideration for certain community positions are being seriously considered, and we eagerly awaits for good news!

One of my many books for this year is this book on Sarawak Women (courtesy of State Government & borrowed from my office resource center) and noticed that we lack outstanding Dayak women or maybe more accurately 'acknowledged' Dayak women. Its time that Dayak women make an impact in the development of Sarawak/Malaysia. Leadership is still 'heredity' whether qualified or not; and I strongly believe that each of us should make an impact in various fields. At this juncture, I would like to note that there are so many Dayak women who have served the community in various fields and many more who are 'shy' to be in the public domain. I thought of listing but decided against it; in case, I get many calls from them! haha!

Tu siti ari pemayoh bup ke dibaca aku, ianya pasal Tuai-tuai Indu kitai di Sarawak; lalu dipeda aku tak nadai mayoh kitai indu Iban. Arap ke sida ke dudi/biak mansut ke diri ngambi dikelala lalu ngemansang ke bansa kitai. Beguna amat kitai ke bala indu ke bepenemu ngiring raban bansa.

Tu gereja menoa aku; gereja ke endor aku sembahyang ke digaga alam taun 1963; lalu pengandal bala ianya gereja baru ulih di-diri ke enda lama agi.

This is my local (rural) church which was built in 1963 and the committee is planning to built a new church, when the fund is sufficient.

This weekend, I had a wonderful experience of attending the 2nd Methodist Prayer Convention in my little town! James Shia (Taiwan), Graham Power (S. Africa) & Dion Forster (S. Africa) were here!!! Unfortunately, I was too far to get a picture with them -and guess didn't try hard enough!! :) All were great speakers!!

BTW (picture below) the one of the left is one of the pastor translating into Mandarin for the convention! Yes, it was held in 3 languages - English, Mandarin & Tamil!!

Ujung minggu tu tadi, aku enggau bala Methodist di Malaysia bisi Begempuru Besampi Besai; lalu sida bisi ngagau ke 2 iko orang bejako ianya Dr. James Shia & Graham Power, lalu dibai mega Dion Forster. Rindu amat ninga sida tu bejako pasal Kuasa Sampi. Penemu ke diulih mayoh serta aku enda nemu ngerintai, nya alai naka tu aja meh utai ke ditusi aku!


Kami duai menyanak bergambar enggau tepak menantu enggau tepak uchu aku ... nuh asai tuai tu, udah bisi uchu!!! hahaha Kami tu ke rumah panjai minggu orang ke benong hebat berkempen ketegal progrim Bala Indu Methodist, lalu maya nya mega bisi progrim Jiwa Murni Tentera. Nya iya ko aku, sida di ruai berubat, bala ke dibilik sembahyang ... awak ke sida ninga ko aku!

In mid April, during the campaigning period, we were at the longhouse for the Methodist Women program; and the Jiwa Murni Tentera activities were also held. This program is where the army sent out their medical team of dentist, general practitioner, and pharmacist to the longhouse to give medical care for all. It was a great program and I hope that in future, they should include Health talks/advices.

Joggerthon ...

Am I into sports or activities involving 'muscles' ... that's a resounding NO! Yes, friends & families - you know me well! I could walk for a whole day shopping (ahemmm without buying anything or walk for hours inside a mall) but ask me to walk around a track ... NO THANK YOU! I just want to add for good measure - I was champion in badminton in college, and one of the winning double badminton team in the office ... yes years ago! :P

So imagine my surprise when Pastor Enjut handed over not 1 but 10 of these Jogerthon cards. Outright, I told her - 1 card will do or I suggest to her that I could just put my contribution in her card. She gave me that sweet 'silent' smile of hers - and my heart just 'melt' and I reluctantly accepted all 10 cards! The truth is that, I was 'afraid' of her!! (She's a very kind & sweet pastor!)

When I reached home and share the 'incident' with my daughter; the smart 12-yr old listened and say the wildest and sensible thing! She says 'Mummy its not about us giving money. We have to find money and run!' ha? 'Crazy girl!' Blessed - child of my heart! Then I challenged her that I will only run, if she can find/collect RM1,000 on her card ... so she cornered the grandma & grandpa immediately and got RM300.00! Her explanation was - mummy needs to keep healthy and we have to get her to exercise. She has identified her donors to this. Beware uncles, aunties & cousins! I am sure ALL of you are conspiring to 'torture' me; but I will do this with love for His Church & Glory! Amen!

ha ha! So then the 'old' mind start working - well, I might as well get RM10,000.00 for the church; and once and for all get friends to contribute to my church ... while helping me get into a better shape! Exercise with Purposes!

This week, I checked to make sure that the shoes still fit (yeah yeah ... I am at the age when nothing grows hmmm except maybe sideways in the mid section!), the socks are hole-less ... all checked and in order. Now is to train or keep my body muscles familiar with some movement ... so it will be aerobic for the next one and half month plus walking around the track! I can now imagine the music of rocky playing in the background, as I get ready!

Pray for me :D that I will at least accomplish this task, with fun filled heart and at the end, I win with a shapely womanly body. As one cheeky friend says .. less womanly...so that he could get his arms all around! I like to state that this friend just have short arms!!

Change is Here...

Praise the Lord, Wind of Change is blowing through Sarawak Iban Annual Conference-Methodist Women! How 'strong' the 'wind' will depend on His chosen group of 'young' ladies who have been elected to lead for the next 2 years. Pray for us to receive guidance/blessing to do his work and fullfill the mission at hand. The theme for the next quadranium is "Spreading the Gospel, Transform the Nation" (hope the translation is right, but I will get the English version, soon and update here).

In any organization/society, Change is hard to accept and lots of resistance to it from the 'old' timers or former leaders, but with prayers and guidance from the President SIAC Rev Steward Damat, we tend to 'follow' and be 'guided' by our spiritual leader. Thank you Lord for your merciful blessings and guidance!

Here's the new 'young' ladies, 95% first timers, elected to lead the SIAC-MW for the next 2 years. May the Lord bless and guide them as they do Lord's works through Methodist Women aka Bala Indu Methodist.

By the way, yours truly was nominated for the post of President, and was appointed as Vice-President. You will wonder ... how does the system works? Well, I lost the election for the Presidency and thus appointed as the Vice. This was one of the challenge and matter that I have been praying about for years, to be or not to be; to heed the call or ignore it? In the end, I leave it to His hands and He has spoken and defined the role. Include me in your prayers that I will be able to deliver and serve.

Maybe as I wonder, and I'm sure others do also is how am I going to fit THIS new role into my already busy life! Work is already so demanding with my many functions/responsibilities coupled with my leadership of Sarakup, other community societies PLUS now MW? Well, the Lord knows what you need and put you in the 'right' place and creates 'right' environment etc.. PLT, my 2 key officers in Sarakup are now more free to take more active roles; see how the Lord 'arranges' our life!

Let's go forth, and do what we have to! I would love to quote great Bible verses at this juncture, but know only one (recognizing this as my weakness) and so I will leave with a request my friends ... Pray for me always to have the wisdon, strength, love, and passion to do Lord's work in whatever capacity He has emplaced me!

Gereja Menoa, Gereja Menoa Pesisir (Rural Church) ...

Yesterday evening was the Fundraising Dinner for the Sibu District Methodist Churches of the Sarawak Iban Annual Conference which was attended by about 700 members from 29 local churches members and friends.

We had a wonderful time of fellowship! The entertainment was so simple & uplifting! Simplicity to glorify Him.

The objective of the dinner was to raise fund for the maintenance of the 29 rural churches. The giving of tithes among us are relatively low. Pastors are constantly/continually sharing with members on the blessings of giving tithes and at times the necessity of it. In general (my personal observation), we are most willing to give our time & energy for the church; but when it comes to money/offering/tithes, we tend to do sparingly. We need to open our mind, heart & purse for this! Yours truly included! Our church needs us!

Yeah, your going to ask why am I not up there with them? I couldn't make it to the longhouse for practice, so opted not to join them that night! Failed to learn, earlier, that it was one of the praise karaoke type! They did an excellent job!!

It was a great evening of fellowship! For once, I could walk around all over the hall meeting & chatting up with friends/MW ladies; as I was just an attendee instead of an organizer!

Nemalam kami sebilik enggau ngulu pengerami makai malam ngiga belanja ke gereja-gereja menoa Methodist Sitak Sibu. Ditu bisi 29 iti buah gereja menoa ie gereja di menoa pesisir ke beguna amat ke kerja ngaga utai ke jai-jai bangunan gereja. Berapa ulih nemalam? Enda nemu aku, tang kira kasar aku, RM20,000 ari jual rega mija, lagu sponsor, nyual bungai/sticker, enggau pemeri siko ari anembiak gereja (sebiliknya meri RM10,000!). Puji Tuhan!

Maya sebilik nya meri penyampau nya; aku berunding ke pemeri diri ke Gereja & Pengawa Tuhan. Pemeri terima kasih ke berkat Allah Taalah ke penyampau mayoh, penyampau sinu, serta penyampau rindu! Tu pekara ke deka dirunding aku.

Continual Blessings ...

Quick update on what have been happening in my life:-

1. Busy searching & updating service records for 'the' next step. Its amazing the potential for improvement in the HR Dept.. Its always a blessing when the Lord makes the impossible into possible!

2. Realized the need to get to know all the 1st/2nd/3rd cousins & their families; and ultimately have a closed family. In a span of 2 months, the family experiences the passing/called to the Lord of an aunt & an uncle due to illness. During this period, realized that among the cousins we're not that 'close' to each other, as we actually had difficulty looking for each other for lack of contact information. We're close with the uncles/aunties as they had made a point to keep themselves updated/connected with each other over the years. So Lord, give me the wisdom & strength to re-connect with all my wonderful family.

3. This month, my thoughts are troubled in 1 particular issue dealing with leadership and I seek Him for answers. The verse that continually comes to my mind is "Do not be afraid for I am with you ... ". This was the Lord's verse that appear to me when I also had doubts/concerns when asked to take a greater leadership role about 10 years ago. Once again, I seek His guidance on this matter.

4. I salute all mothers who have successfully guide their children's growth/development according to His teaching. This has been the greatest challenge to me. So my dearest friends/family, do pray for me for the wisdom, patience, strength, and love to be a good mother.

5. My work with the Dayak women either in the church or community has brought me so much friendship, love and joy; and this service/contribution really have so much blessings in the growth/development of the young dayak ladies. I learn each day from these wonderful women in many aspects of life!

6. Who am I, without the love, understanding and continual support of my wonderful parents. Thank you Lord for gift of life from these wonderful parents.

7. Wonderful brothers, sister-in-laws, niece & nephews - bless you all for your patience & love.

8. Friends ... I am blessed because your in my life and you color my life!

Siti verse alam bup Kudus ke dikerindu aku, ianya ari bup Mathew 7:7/ Luke 11:9! Aku enda mantai ke nama leka jako dia; laban asai aku, kita nemu agi tauka enggau lantang ngiga iya.

Tang alam pengidup kitai enda semua utai ke dikerindu tauka disampi kitai nya deka diberi Allah Taalah. Nama kebuah? Kati sampi aku kurang didinga Iya? Sampi aku enda nyemetak tauka terang? Peminat kelalu besai, lalu enda ulih diberi? Agi ngiga? Mayoh tanya ketegal sampi enda disaut tauka enda datai ... nama kebuah?

Pengidup kitai endang bepun ari Allah Taalah; lalu semua pejalai pengidup kitai endang udah diatur Iya. Nya alai alam mayoh bengah pekara alam pengidup, aku sigi nyerah ngagai Iya; semina ketegal kitai mensia, kadang-kadang enda ulih nerima pemeri Tuhan. Nyangka kadang-kadang pemeri Tuhan tu ukai ke 'dipinta' kitai; tang munyi ko siko paderi ke amat-amat disayau ke aku, niang Paderi Serani Pillai, ... Tuhan nemu guna kitai, lalu Iya meri nitih ke guna kitai!

Allah Taalah, Apai Kami ke Diserga, aku nyerah ke pengidup aku ngosong Nuan, beri meh pengering, pengliat ati, pengerindu, pengasih ke nyampau pemayoh; awak ke aku ulih ngatur pengidup nitih ke cara ke betul, nitih ke ajar Nuan. Nuan siko aja ke nemu guna alam pengidup setiap kami, Tuhan. Sampi tu dipinta alam nama Tuhan Jesus Kristus, Amen!

Aum Betaun SIAC Methodist magai 60 Taun!

Pengerami ngintu SIAC Methodist 60 taun udah ditubuh ke di Sarawak, ukai semina ngelai ke pemansang gereja/Kristus alam pengidup kitai Iban; tang mega mantai ke berekat Tuhan ngagai pengerja iya! Taja kurang alam pemisi dunya, tang kaya alam pengerai & pengerindu. Aum betaun ke sekali tu diselit ke sida enggau 1 seminar dibai Prof. Jayum & Prof. Dimbab & siti makai malam ngenang 60 taun SIAC udah ditubuh ke. Ketemu aku, batch ke terubah bala paderi Iban - ianya Rev. Joshua, Rev. Jerry Rabbu & hero kami!

Indai, Indai Polycarp, Apai & Apai Polycarp - 2 orang paderi tuai Gereja Iban Methodist. Kaul sebilik Kristus ke mangai lebih setengah abad. pengerindu ngagai pagan diri agi bedau meruan, taja lama enda betemu (ketegal udah nyadi pengibun uchu!! :D)

Presiden SIAC nyepu kek nanda ke 60 taun Methodist Iban. Tang iya ke nyiru ke aku, bala paderi-paderi Iban nadai dibai/dikelala maya nya. Bala Komiti udah ditegur aku kemari alam pekara tu. Datai maya iya, kitai anembiak Gereja/Tuhan, berdiri kering kediri, ngemansang ke Gereja, mambal ke Jako Tuhan, muka ati/runding ke penemu pemansang ke baru. Aku ingat ke siti jako Bishop Methodist Rev. Dr. Hwa Yung - gereja kristian ke paling mujur kediatu ianya gereja SIB. Aku tertanya alam ati - Nama Kebuah? Nama utai/chara pengibun sida ke lain? Sama-sama kitai wai menyadi (kelebih agi ke alam sebilik Methodist) berunding bakani kitai ulih ngubah ngambi gereja kitai, anak domba kitai, penemu kitai - di intu.
